malayalam movie Actor SiddiqueSiddique, who is accused of rape and sexual assault by an actress, today filed a formal complaint with the Kerala state police chief accusing the actress of criminal conspiracy. The allegations, Siddique said, are inconsistent with his earlier claims and are part of a broader effort to discredit him and the company. Malayalam Film Artists Association (BUT).

Siddique alleged that the actress was fabricating and spreading false and damaging allegations against him.

In his letter, Siddique claimed that the actress first leveled allegations against him in 2018 on social media, alleging inappropriate behavior during the preview of a film in 2016. She then leveled allegations again in 2021.

Pointing out discrepancies in the actress’s statements about her age and educational background in her complaint, Siddique alleged that the actress was expelled from Weifang Medical University in China for misconduct.

He also claimed that the actress had applied for a loan from a listed bank manager and to date has not refuted or questioned his claims.

The actress, in an interview on August 24, 2024, made serious allegations of rape against Siddique. Following the allegations, Siddique resigned as AMMA’s general secretary. Following his resignation, the actress called it a “big victory” and added, “I can see the change.”

The allegations come in the backdrop of the release of the Hema committee report, which has shed light on incidents of sexual abuse and harassment against women artists and technicians in the Malayalam film industry.

Speaking to Times Now, the actress said that times are changing as women have started understanding the abuse and added that “understanding is more important than solidarity.”

“I consider this a victory, but again, it is time for it to be withdrawn. It is women who started this fight, speaking up for each other. We support each other and I can see the change. I know that times are changing. They are ready to learn. They have started understanding, observing and learning the various aspects of abuse. Understanding is more than solidarity. We can see that change and that has given hope. Earlier, there used to be a massive attack on women. Just because we chose to speak up, I used to hear a lot of abuse. That was the most difficult phase of my life. That affected me a lot,” she said.
