Adani Group and Google collaborate to promote clean energy goals in India

The Adani Group and Google today announced a collaboration focused on promoting sustainability and expanding clean energy initiatives in India.

As part of this partnership, Adani will provide renewable energy from a new hybrid solar-wind project based in Khavda, Gujarat, home to the world’s largest renewable energy facility. The project is planned to begin commercial operations in the third quarter of 2025.

Adani, a leader in large-scale wind, solar, hybrid and energy storage projects, is set to offer customized renewable energy solutions for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. This initiative will allow these sectors to meet their energy demands and at the same time reduce their carbon emissions.

“With proven capabilities in delivering large-scale wind, solar, hybrid and energy storage projects, Adani is well positioned to provide customized renewable energy solutions to commercial and industrial (C&I) customers to meet their energy needs and reduce their carbon footprint,” the release said.

Adani’s future strategy involves expanding its focus on commercial and C&I segments to drive decarbonization of industries across India.

The association also aligns with GoogleThe goal of achieving 24/7 carbon-free energy. By ensuring Google’s cloud operations in India are powered by clean energy, the collaboration supports Google’s sustainable growth in the region.

Headquartered in Ahmedabad, Adani Group is India’s largest and fastest-growing conglomerate, with a diverse portfolio spanning energy, utilities, transportation, logistics, natural resources and consumer services.

The statement mentioned that the Adani Group intends to intensify its focus on business sectors to help in the decarbonization of industries.

According to the statement, this collaboration will help advance Google’s “24/7 carbon-free energy goal” by ensuring that its cloud services and operations in India are powered by clean energy.
