Adani Group rejects Hindenburg’s allegations in regulatory filing

Adani rejects Hindenburg: Adani Group denies all allegations levelled by US short-seller Hindenburg linking SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch.

In a regulatory filing, the company said:

The latest allegations by Hindenburg are malicious, mischievous and manipulative cherry-picking of publicly available information to arrive at predetermined conclusions for personal gain with complete disregard for facts and law. We completely reject these allegations against the Adani Group which are a recycling of debunked claims that have been thoroughly investigated, proven to be baseless and were already dismissed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in January 2024.

It is reiterated that our overseas holding structure is fully transparent and all relevant details are disclosed regularly in numerous public filings. In addition, Anil Ahuja was a Nominee Director of 3i Investment Fund at Adani Power (2007-2008) and subsequently a Director of Adani Enterprises till 2017.

The Adani Group has no business relationship with the individuals or matters mentioned in this deliberate and calculated effort to malign our reputation. We remain firmly committed to transparency and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

For a discredited short seller under scrutiny for several violations of Indian securities laws, Hindenburg’s allegations are nothing more than red herrings thrown around by a desperate entity with complete disregard for Indian laws.

Earlier, SEBI chief Madhabi Buch also issued a rebuttal to the report published on Saturday evening (IST). The allegations by the Hindenburg-Adani group were earlier reviewed by the Supreme Court of India, leading to the closure without any evidence to back up the short-seller’s allegations.
