Poonawalla buys stake in Dharma:Adar Poonawalla has leapfrogged competitors Reliance and Saregama by acquiring a 50 per cent stake in Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The deal, valued at Rs 1,000 crore, makes Poonawalla’s Serene Entertainment a major partner of one of India’s leading film production houses. Karan Johar will retain the remaining 50 percent ownership of Dharma, according to media reports.
Expressing his excitement about the association, Adar Poonawalla, CEO, Serum Institute of India, said, “I am delighted to be associated with one of the country’s most iconic production houses, along with my friend Karan Johar. Our aim is to grow Dharma and take it to even greater heights in the coming years.
