After a thrashing defeat to New Zealand in the one-off Test match at Greater Noida, Afghanistan will take the field in a three-match ODI series against South Africa. The Afghans will host the Proteas in three ODIs at the Sharjah Cricket Ground in the United Arab Emirates.
Afghanistan will be hoping to win their first international match against South Africa. Previously, both teams have played two ODIs and three T20Is against each other, in which the Proteas won all five matches.
Most recently, both teams met in the semi-final of the 2024 T20 World Cup, where the Aiden Markram-led side defeated the Asian nation by nine wickets.
South Africa are on a lengthy tour of the United Arab Emirates which will see them play Afghanistan in an ODI series before playing a T20I and ODI series against Ireland.
