After Kolkata Horror, Agra’s Shame! 6-7 Bikeborne Men Harass Woman Scooterist – VIDEO

Bike hooligans harass woman riding scooter in Agra

Amid nationwide outrage over the brutal rape and murder of a junior doctor in Kolkata, security agencies across India are on high alert as reports of sexual violence against women continue to rise. In Agra, two men, Yusuf and Firoz, were arrested by the Anti-Romeo Squad for harassing a girl while following her on a bike. The arrest came after a viral video showed a group of men on motorcycles aggressively chasing the woman and one of them putting his foot on her scooter.

Amid the national outcry over the Calcutta case, the The Supreme Court took cognizance of the case on Mondayfollowing the Calcutta High Court’s decision to transfer the investigation to the CBI due to dissatisfaction with the handling of the case. A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud will review the case on Tuesday and may also take up the recent acts of vandalism at RG Kar Hospital, which occurred on August 14.

In response to the violence, police released 76 photographs of suspects involved in the vandalism and made 30 arrests.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused the BJP and CPM of inciting vandalism at the hospital and spreading misinformation.
