New Delhi: After Vladimir Putin Italy’s now Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has said that India and China can resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Speaking at the Ambrosetti Forum in Cernobbio, northern Italy, Giorgia Meloni said: “It is clear that if the rules of international law are violated, chaos and crises will multiply, but it is also clear that with the multiplication of crises there will be a natural fragmentation of the geo-economic space, that is, in the long term, economic globalisation and the questioning of the rules of international law will not go hand in hand. This is what I also told my Chinese counterparts: we must choose, because the two things do not go together. That is also why I believe that, in the end, nations such as China and India can and must play a role in resolving the conflict in Ukraine.”
At the event, Meloni also met with the President of Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelenskyy who also met Prime Minister Modi last month during his historic visit to kyiv.
Putin says India, China and Brazil can resolve Ukraine war
Russian President Vladimir Putin Addressing the 9th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, he mentioned India’s role in providing a “helping hand” in resolving the issue.
Putin He said India, China and Brazil could act as “mediators” in possible peace talks with Ukraine following the current conflict in kyiv.
“We respect our friends and partners, who, I believe, are sincerely interested in resolving all the issues related to this conflict. These are, first of all, the People’s Republic of China, Brazil and India. I am in constant contact with our colleagues on this issue and I have no doubt that the leaders of these countries, with whom we have a relationship of trust, are sincerely trying to help us understand all the details of this complex process.”
