Inside Microsoft WindowsAI PC shipments grew 127% sequentially during the quarter. The tech giant introduced its “Copilot+” AI PCs in May, featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon PC chips based on Arm Holdings’ architecture. Struggling chipmaker Intel also increased shipments of its AI PC chips, the report said, hoping to capitalize on the push toward production of AI-enabled devices.
The introduction of AI-powered PCs is also driving growth in the premium segment, with Windows PC shipments priced above $800 growing 9% sequentially.
LenovoApple’s AI PC shipments grew 228% sequentially, representing about 6% of its total Windows PC shipments in the June quarter.
AI-enabled PCs accounted for 8% of horsepowerDell’s Windows shipments, while just under 7% of its Windows shipments were represented by AI-powered PCs.

“With a strong foundation now in place, AI-enabled PC shipments are poised to gain further momentum in the second half of 2024,” said Ishan Dutt, principal analyst at Canalys.
