Wilson recorded 29 points during the Aces’ 84-71 win over the Connecticut Sun. She surpassed Jewell Loyd’s scoring record of 939 points set in 2023, but bettered the tally by surpassing the 1,000-point mark.

Wilson accomplished the monumental feat with one minute and 57 seconds left in the Aces vs. Sun game held at the Michelob Ultra Arena. The 28-year-old was simply unbeatable as she not only racked up 29 points for her team but also chipped in with nine rebounds and two blocks for the Aces, who have a 25-13 record this season.

The Aces Center was filled with cheers as she shared the historic moment with her parents, who were in attendance. South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley also posted a tweet encouraging Wilson and demanding that A’ja be crowned MVP now.

The Aces return to action on Tuesday, September 17 when they take on the Seattle Storm, while the Sun face the second-seeded Minnesota Lynx in a thrilling playoff battle.
