Ajit Pawar will not contest elections?

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief, who has represented the Baramati constituency in Pune district for the past several terms, also said that he is no longer interested in contesting the elections. However, state NCP chief Sunil Tatkare later said that Ajit Pawar did not say that he would not contest the upcoming assembly elections. While talking to the media, Ajit Pawar was responding to a question whether Jai would take the Baramati seat as per the demand of his supporters. On this he said, this is democracy. I have no interest in it (contesting elections) because I have contested seven-eight elections. If the people and his supporters think so, the parliamentary committee (NCP) will discuss it.
