Amagi expands its global presence with its entry into Mexico

Eggsa Bangalore-based unicorn and global leader in cloud-based SaaS technology for streaming and connected TV (Central Television), has entered the Mexican market.

This strategic expansion reflects Amagi’s commitment to global growth and underscores its confidence in the potential of the Latin American media and entertainment industry.

As part of this movement, Amagi has appointed Miriam Ríos as Director of Account Management to lead its sales efforts in Mexico.

With extensive experience in advertising sales and business intelligence across linear and non-linear video platforms, Ríos has worked with advertising technology, pay television and media agencies.

As Mexico’s media and entertainment sector accelerates its adoption of digital technologies, Amagi sees significant opportunities for broadcasters and content owners.

In an earlier interaction with ET, Amagi CEO and co-founder Baskar Subramanian had said that the media technology company aims to turn profitable in the first half of 2024.

The company, which offers end-to-end cloud-managed video infrastructure for TV and OTT, works with nearly 400 TV networks worldwide. The company’s growth rate has slowed as its revenue base has expanded, with annual recurring revenue (ARR) exceeding $100 million.

Amagi works with nearly 400 broadcasters globally and expects revenue contributions from Asia and India to shift in the coming years as Indian broadcasters move from hardware to cloud-based content delivery.

It also plans to take advantage of the fact that the vast majority of broadcasters have yet to adopt cloud-based playback, with companies like Viacom18 and Zee Entertainment Companies They already use cloud-based streaming for their international TV channels.
