Ahead of the 2024 festive season, Amazon India has announced the creation of over 110,000 seasonal jobs across its operations network. This move is aimed at meeting the growing consumer demand in major cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and others.
The recruitment includes both direct and indirect roles, ensuring smooth operations during the peak purchasing period. A significant portion of these hires include thousands of female associates and nearly 1,900 people with disabilities.
By hiring a diverse workforce, the company seeks to provide opportunities for women and people with disabilities, integrating them into its fulfillment and logistics network.
Most of the new employees have already joined Amazon and many will continue to work with the company beyond the holiday season, reflecting Amazon’s emphasis on long-term job creation and community impact.
Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Labour, Employment, Youth Affairs and Sports, lauded Amazon’s efforts and said the company’s commitment to creating over one lakh seasonal jobs is a commendable contribution to India’s workforce.

She also praised Amazon’s focus on hiring women and people with disabilities, along with initiatives that prioritize associate well-being through health, safety and education programs.
Amazon India Vice President of Operations Abhinav Singh stressed that the company aims to provide customers with fast and reliable deliveries during the festive season while ensuring the well-being of all associates.
Amazon has implemented several initiatives to support its workforce, including Project Ashray, which provides respite points for delivery associates in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Additionally, the Sushruta Health Initiative provides comprehensive health support to truck drivers, and the Pratidhi Scholarship helps members’ children access quality education.

Amazon India has also focused on building industry-leading infrastructure to ensure a safe and comfortable working environment for employees. This includes providing access to clean drinking water, air-conditioned cafeterias, and medical facilities at the workplace.
Additionally, partners receive financial wellness support through initiatives such as Samriddhi camps, which help enhance workers’ skills and promote financial literacy by enrolling them in government support programmes such as E-Shram and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana.
Amazon’s growing infrastructure network, spanning 15 states with 43 million cubic feet of storage, supports more than 1.4 million sellers across India.
