Anand Mahindra’s Venice travel diary is filled with gelato, hearty lunches and stunning views

Mahindra was recently in Venice, Italy, and shared the highlights of his trip on his X account. Calling it his “Venice Travel Diary,” Mahindra posted some amazing views of the city, insights into its culture, and pictures of delicious food. Talking about the importance of nutrition in Italy And in Venice, Mahindra wrote: “As everywhere in Italy, food is a major concern in Venice.” He posted a photo of a cafe sign that read: “Things to do today: Wake up, eat.” frozen“Take a nap, repeat.” He also posted photos of an outdoor lunch table and a delicious-looking ice cream served with hazelnuts and what looks like coffee and chocolate sauces. Commenting on the dessert, Mahindra said, “Even the humble ice cream is sometimes served as a gourmet dish with ‘katoris’ of condiments.”

He also recommended visiting ‘Al Covino’ for lunch or dinner. Al Covino offers creative modern European cuisine, with set menu options, in a cozy bistro-like space.

“A small 7-table joint under the new management of Claudio and Claudia, who gave it a new lease of life 5 months ago and gave themselves a new lease of life by getting married 3 months ago,” Mahindra wrote, adding, “They are warm and friendly, and provide an experience that makes you feel like you are a guest in their home kitchen. The food has an amazing combination of flavours with lovingly selected and named ingredients. Exceptional.”
