The story of the original Angry Young Men of Hindi cinema is about to be revealed to desi movie buffs. Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Salman Khan and Farhan Akhtar will be among those who will narrate the story of the legendary writer-lyricist duo Salim-Javed. In the trailer of Angry Young Men released by Prime Video, Salim Khan and Javed AkhtarTogether with his family and friends, they discuss his timeless cinematic legacy. The story of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar will be told in documentary format.

Salman Khan and Zoya Akhtar praise Salim-Javed

The video begins with Salman saying, “This is the first time I’m actually nervous.” While the promo starts with Farhan saying, “The only reason I knew my dad wrote those films was because he was my dad.” The trailer then cuts to Amitabh’s iconic line in Deewar, where he says, “Main aaj bhi feke hue paise nahi uthata (Even today I don’t accept money being thrown at me).” Zoya Akhtar, while talking about Salim-Javed, notes, “They did 24 films together, out of which 22 were blockbusters. It hasn’t happened before, I don’t think it will happen again.”

Salim jokingly talks to the camera and says, “After seeing this, Hollywood should call me and say, ‘We are short of stars.’” Aamir Khan, while expressing his opinion on the writer duo, said, “Can you name a single writer today whose name alone attracts the audience?” Farhan’s friend Hrithik Roshan also claimed that, “Whoever has grown up watching their films, has a bit of Salim-Javed in their blood.” Karan Johar, while praising the duo, called them the “Sexiest Jodi.” The video ends with Amitabh Bachhcan saying, “Them being together was a completely different story.”

Shaban Azmi, Honey Irani and others also give their testimonies about the series.
