A day after gunshots were reported outside his residence in Canada, Indian-born Canadian artist AP Dhillon assured his fans that he was safe and thanked them for their support.
According to media reports, an alleged post by Lawrence Bishnoi gang member Rohit Godara claimed responsibility for the incident.
Popular Vancouver-based Punjabi singer Dhillon shared a message on his Instagram Stories on Monday night following the alleged shooting.
“I’m safe. My people are safe. Thank you to everyone who helped me. Your support means everything. Peace and love to all,” he wrote.
The incident came weeks after Dhillon appeared with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in the music video for his song “Old Money.” In April, gunshots also broke out outside Khan’s apartment in Mumbai and the actor told police he believes Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang was responsible.
Dhillon is a rising global star in the hip-hop scene with songs like “Brown Munde,” “Excuses,” and “Summer High.”
The 31-year-old musician, whose real name is Amritpal Singh Dhillon, moved from Gurdaspur to Canada in 2015 to pursue his post-graduate course in Business Administration and Management.
