In a recent update, the long-awaited iPhone 16 series will make its debut on September 10, falling in line with Apple’s tradition of announcing new iPhones in September.

GSM Arena has reported that the release date of the new devices will likely be September 20, just ten days after the announcement.

Reports obtained by GSM Arena also indicate that the announcement event will take place at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, a venue synonymous with the unveiling of major Apple products.

Invitations for this event are expected to go out next week, further raising the anticipation for the new iPhone series.

Apple’s production process for the iPhone 16 series is reportedly progressing smoothly, suggesting that all four models in the series will be available simultaneously on the planned launch date.

This aligns with Apple’s historical pattern of releasing multiple iPhone models at once, ensuring a complete lineup for consumers.

The September release cycle has become a hallmark of Apple’s product strategy, with the company consistently choosing this month to unveil its latest iPhone versions.

As Apple prepares for the early launch of the iPhone 16 series, scheduled for next month, possibly on September 10, reports have also emerged regarding the camera specifications of the four upcoming models.

According to reports obtained by GSM Arena, the latest revelations offer a glimpse at the improvements and features that will debut with the new line.

The standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models will reportedly retain the dual-camera setup found on their predecessors.
However, the cameras will now be aligned vertically on the rear panel.

Both models will feature the same 48MP primary sensor seen on the iPhone 15 series, but the ultra-wide lens will benefit from a faster f/2.2 aperture compared to the f/2.4 aperture on last year’s models.

This update aims to improve low-light performance, and for the first time, non-Pro versions will support macro photography, GSM Arena reported.

The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will offer more significant changes. Both Pro models will include a 5x telephoto camera, a feature previously exclusive to the larger Pro Max model.

This telephoto lens will use a 12 MP sensor with an f/2.8 aperture.

The main camera on these Pro models will remain unchanged from last year, but the ultra-wide lens will receive a noticeable upgrade.

It will now feature a 48MP sensor with 0.7-micrometer pixels that, when used in binning mode, will produce an effective pixel size of 1.4 micrometers.

This update will also enable 48MP ProRaw photography capabilities.

In addition to hardware improvements, Apple could introduce a new photo format, JPEG-XL, with the iPhone 16 series, according to GSM Arena.

The Pro models will also support 3K video recording at 120fps with Dolby Vision, significantly improving video recording capabilities.

A notable feature across all four iPhone 16 models will be the addition of a new capture button.

This capacitive button will bring a touch of Sony’s innovation to Apple devices, although it won’t physically move when pressed.

Instead, it will operate via force-sensitive half-press and support various actions through a developer API.

Users will be able to lock exposure and focus before fully pressing the button to capture a photo, according to GSM Arena.

The capacitive nature of the button will also allow it to act as a trackpad, potentially enabling features like zoom and other customizable actions through third-party apps.
