‘Arrangements will have to be made to break fingers’, Mamata’s minister said, while the student who wrote a post on CM was arrested – Mamata Banerjee Minister Udayan Guha provocative statement in Kolkata Rape case NTC

Protests are being held across the country against the rape and murder of a female trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in West Bengal. Students and doctors of various medical colleges are protesting today as well. People are also raising their voice prominently on social media.

On the other hand, Kolkata Police is sending notices to many people for allegedly posting false information regarding the incident, which also includes the name of TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Shekhar Ray.

Mamata’s minister spoke harshly
Amidst all this, West Bengal minister Udayan Guha has become angry over the questions being constantly raised on the Bengal government. Giving a controversial statement in Cooch Behar, he has said that arrangements will have to be made to break the fingers of those who are pointing fingers against Mamata Banerjee.

Udayan Guha said, ‘Those who are abusing Mamata Banerjee on social media and those who are pointing fingers and demanding her resignation. Those fingers must be identified and arrangements must be made to break them. Otherwise these people will try to turn Bengal into Bangladesh. But they do not know that Mamata Banerjee has not made the mistake that Hasina made. Despite the vandalism in the hospital, Mamata Banerjee did not fire bullets.’

student arrested
Meanwhile, Kolkata Police has arrested a college student who has been accused of posting controversial posts on social media. The 23-year-old student has been arrested by Taltala Police Station for posting “objectionable comments” against CM Mamata Banerjee and allegedly revealing the identity of the rape victim.

A complaint was received at the Taltala police station alleging that the accused student had uploaded three Instagram stories on her account related to the incident at RG Kar Hospital, revealing the photo and identity of the victim woman.

Also, the accused student was accused of sharing two stories against the Chief Minister of West Bengal, in which objectionable comments and death threats were made to her. It was said that this is of very provocative nature and can cause social unrest at any time and promote hatred among the community.

TMC MPs reach High Court against summons
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress MP Sukhendu Shekhar Ray has approached the High Court against the notice of Kolkata Police in which he was summoned to the Police Headquarters. He had demanded that the former principal of the medical college and hospital and the police commissioner be taken into custody and questioned so that it could be known ‘who spread the news of suicide and why’. Calling this post fake, Kolkata Police had summoned him by sending a notice. Now Shukhendu has approached the High Court to cancel this summons. The police notice has been challenged in his petition.
