Nitish Cabinet: In the cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, approval was given for creation of 1589 posts in various departments. Approval was given for creation of 466 additional posts of various categories at district (regional) level of Sports Department by incorporating the posts previously created in the regional offices of Directorate of Students and Youth Welfare into the Sports Department for performance of duties assigned to the Sports Department by the Cabinet.
With the creation of new posts, programmes related to the selection of talented players from the state at the primary level and the inclusion of young players in primary sports activities will be organised. This will help to prepare national and international level players in the state.
The Cabinet Department also approved creation of 33 posts (contractual) of various categories for functioning of the under-construction State Sports Academy and International Cricket Stadium at Rajgir in Nalanda district. On the recommendation of the Patna High Court, one post of Additional District and Sessions Judge in the Saharsa Judicial Board was approved under the Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016.

It approved creation of 770 additional posts of Dentist (original category) for the 38 District Hospitals, 61 Sub-Divisional Hospitals, two Dental Colleges, 212 Community Health Centres and 328 Primary Health Centres in the State, Government Dispensary Raj Bhavan and Government Dispensary Patna. It was the High Court. The Cabinet approved creation of three additional posts of Vehicle Driver for the Headquarters under the Minor Water Resources Department.

In addition to the already created posts in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, 131 additional teaching posts have been approved for creation out of the total 283 posts in 46 Government Polytechnics and Government Women Polytechnics functioning in the state. This includes 37 posts of English, 29 posts of Physics, 36 posts of Chemistry and 29 posts of Mathematics. In addition, 116 additional posts of Assistant Professors of English, Physics and Mathematics have been approved for creation in a total of 38 engineering colleges in the state. The newly created posts include 67 posts of English, 30 posts of Physics and 19 posts of Mathematics.
Creation of two posts of Programmers from IT cadre in the establishment of Patna High Court was approved. The Cabinet approved creation of a total of 67 additional posts of Prison Driver-1 for jail and hospital management in various jails of the state. Reorganization of a total of 628 posts of Keyman cum Chowkidar already approved in the PHED Department as per the requirements in the 49 working divisions presently functioning in the Department was approved.
