While Trump has recruited the former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard To help him, Harris is conducting mock sessions with his impersonator, Philippe ReinesThe debate will be broadcast on ABC News from the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

Trump, who debated Joe Biden shortly before the president dropped out of the 2024 race, is preparing for his showdown with Harris with the help of advisers, friends and Gabbard, who previously challenged Harris during the 2019 Democratic primary debates.

“President Trump has proven himself to be one of the greatest debaters in political history, as evidenced by the knockout blow he delivered to Joe Biden,” said Karoline Leavitt, national press secretary for the Trump campaign.

He added that the Republican candidate “does not need traditional debate preparation, but will continue to meet with respected political advisors and effective communicators like Tulsi Gabbard, who successfully dominated Kamala Harris on the debate stage.”

Kamala Harris, for her part, has opted for a fairly conventional method of preparation. The vice president is reportedly holding mock debates at Howard University in Washington, D.C., her alma mater. The New York Times reported Friday that “Harris is working on her debate preparations with a small group of advisers, several of whom have known her since before she was vice president.”

He has hired Democratic operative Philippe Reines to represent Trump in mock debates. Reines did the same for Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election cycle.

Who is Philippe Reines?

Reines, a former Hillary Clinton aide, has become an integral part of Kamala Harris’ debate prep team. He served as a senior adviser and spokesperson for Clinton.

He is also known for his skills as a political commentator and his knowledge of campaign strategy.
