Ashneer Grover: Delhi HC appoints arbitrator to decide dispute between BharatPe and Ashneer Grover

He Delhi High Court A single person was appointed on Thursday referee To decide the course dispute between bharatpe and its former CEO Ashneer Grover for the alleged violation of the confidentiality of the latter’s employment contract.

BharatPe had filed a motion in the High Court alleging that Grover had revealed confidential company information on social media and had violated the employment contract signed in 2021.

While Grover sought arbitration at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, where a dispute over a shareholders agreement was already underway, BharatPe opposed SIAC arbitration on the grounds that the employment contract specified arbitration at the Delhi International Arbitration Centre (DIAC).

Justice C Hari Shankar appointed a sole arbitrator to resolve the issue, agreeing with BharatPe’s stance that the arbitration will be conducted under DIAC rules.

In November 2023, the HC had fined Grover two lakh rupees for violating its May 2023 order The letter called on both parties to “refrain from using anti-parliamentary and defamatory publications against each other.” Grover subsequently removed the posts and apologized to the court.
