Avoiding eye contact, kicking bottle out of room: Former CSK star Badrinath reveals unheard of story about Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Former cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, popularly known as ‘Captain Cool’ in cricket circles, is known for his calm demeanor. However, the former Chennai Super Kings captain has lost his cool, only off the cricket field.

Recently, his former India and CSK teammate Subramaniam Badrinath shared a rare anecdote about Dhoni, revealing an instance when he lost his composure.

Badrinath said, “He is human too… he has lost his cool,” in an interview with InsideSport. “But it never happened on the field. He always kept his cool in front of the opposition. In a match against RCB in Chennai, while chasing a target of around 110, we lost several wickets in quick succession and ended up losing the game.”

‘He avoided eye contact’

Badrinath continued the anecdote, stating that the CSK Team He was scared of his captain MS Dhoni, after losing several wickets consecutively.

“I was sacked as LBW and given a chance to fight Anil Kumble. While I was in the dressing room, Dhoni came in and in frustration kicked a small water bottle out of the room. We all avoided making eye contact with him,” Badrinath said in his interview.

With the IPL Mega Auction is Coming SoonUncertainty surrounds Dhoni’s future in the tournament. Despite constant speculations about his retirement, Dhoni has remained silent on his possible participation in IPL 2025.
