Veteran motorcycle racer Badal S. Doshi made history by becoming the first Indian to participate in the famous Gotland Grand National, the world’s largest enduro event held annually in Sweden since 1984.

With a legacy spanning 40 years, this iconic three-hour race attracts over 3,600 entrants from 15 countries across 22 categories, making it the ultimate test of endurance and skill. Doshi will face extreme conditions near the North Pole, with temperatures ranging from 5°C to -5°C.

Doshi’s participation marks another notable milestone in his 30-year career as a motorcycle racing icon. Since beginning his journey in 1994 with the iconic Monsoon Scooter Rally, Doshi has demonstrated his versatility in various racing formats including hill climbs, dirt tracks, rallies, supercross and autocross events.

His notable achievements are:

– Podium in the 2004 Himalayan Rally Raid

– Representing India at the Asian Grand Prix in Taiwan

– Won the inaugural Indian National Sprint Rally Championship on his KTM EXC 500 in 2019

Despite the numerous injuries he has suffered, Doshi’s unwavering spirit continues to drive his passion for racing. He has also been instrumental in nurturing young talent through his motorcycle racing school and championing road safety through his ‘Reach Home Safe’ initiative. As Doshi prepares for the Gotland Grand National, he continues to inspire the next generation of racers, cementing his legacy as one of India’s greatest motorcycle racing champions.
