Bajaj Auto launches Triumph Speed T4 and Speed 400 MY25 in India; check prices and features

Bajaj Auto on Tuesday unveiled two new models as part of its collaboration with Triumph – the Triumph Speed T4 and the Speed 400 MY25. Deliveries of both motorcycles are scheduled to begin by the end of this month, targeting the growing market for modern classic roadsters in India.

The Triumph Speed T4, priced at Rs 2,17,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), is currently the most affordable Triumph model available in India. The “T” in its name stands for “torque,” while the “4” indicates its 400cc engine. This model is designed to be 10% more fuel efficient than the Speed 400, the company claims.

The Speed T4 has a top speed of 135 km/h and can top out at 100 km/h at 5,450 rpm. To maintain its lower price, Triumph has made tweaks to the bike’s hardware and it now features conventional telescopic front forks rather than the more expensive inverted forks found on the Speed 400.

The Speed T4’s engine is a liquid-cooled 399cc single-cylinder that produces slightly less power than the Speed 400. It generates 30.6 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 36 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm, with 85% of the torque available from 2,500 rpm onwards. The bike is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and features a slipper clutch.

The new Triumph Speed T4 comes equipped with a full-LED lighting system, an analogue-digital display, Bluetooth connectivity and traction control. It will be available in three colour options – White, Red and Black. The bike comes with 17-inch wheels fitted with either Apollo Alpha H1 or MRF Steel Brace tyres, depending on the production batch.

Commenting on the success of the partnership with Triumph in India, Sumeet Narang, President, Probiking Division, Bajaj Auto, said, “Triumph Motorcycles India has over 120 showrooms across 75 cities, which was achieved in just one year of partnership with Bajaj Auto. This highlights the growing demand for modern classic motorcycles in India.”

Along with the Speed T4, Bajaj Auto has also introduced the Speed 400 MY25, priced at Rs 2.40 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). This updated version of the Speed 400 features new paint schemes and several design upgrades. It comes with high-profile radial tyres (17-inch 110/80 at the front and 150/70 at the rear) and five-step adjustable levers for the front brake and clutch.

The Speed 400 MY25 will be available in four new colour options – Racing Yellow, Pearl Metallic White, Racing Red and Phantom Black. While the chassis remains unchanged, the motorcycle’s refreshed look offers minor tweaks for a more refined appearance.
