In what is good news for all DC fans, DC Comics has announced a new 12-issue comic book series focusing on OrdinanceThe early days of ‘s. The book series will focus on his days in Gotham, when he was solving crimes. Batman: Dark PatternsThe series has been described as “lo-fi and mystery-focused.”

The book series will be written by writer Dan Watters and artist Hayden Sherman. The first issue will be published in December. It will feature a main cover by Sherman and a variant cover by Stevan Subic.

“I love the strangeness of Batman,” Watters said in a statement. The author added, “A man dressed as a huge gothic bat, solving crimes in a hostile city of black magicians, mad scientists, and superstitious, cowardly criminals. I’ve always wanted to write a series of mystery stories that focused on that aspect of the character: a dweller in the shadows of Gotham’s towering, fat-free spires. After watching The Batman, this desire was reaffirmed. Batman: Dark Patterns explores the pulpier part of the Dark Knight’s rich history and gives readers a whole new perspective on the early years of DC’s Dark Detective.”

Watters also spoke about his inspiration, revealing that Robert Pattinson’s The Batman inspired him to rely on the mystery elements of Batman’s story. “I love the strangeness of Batman. A man dressed as a huge gothic bat, solving crimes in a hostile city of black magicians, mad scientists and superstitious, cowardly criminals,” Watters said.

He went on to explain how he had always wanted to write a series of mystery stories that focused on that aspect of the character: a dweller in the shadows of Gotham’s towering, fat-free towers.

After watching The Batman, his desire was reaffirmed.

The book series will reportedly be told as a Batman street mystery that will explore the early days of Batman’s place in Gotham City. The first case, called “We Are Wounded,” involves a series of monstrous murders that send shockwaves through Gotham City. This is when Batman comes into play as he tries to get to the bottom of the mystery before there are more victims.
