Bengali actress Payel Mukherjee was attacked by a motorcyclist while driving her car on Friday night in Kolkata. The ‘City of Joy’ is witnessing several protests after a horrific rape incident with a junior doctor took place at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9. Payel took to her Instagram account and shared a video of herself explaining the incident that happened to her when she was driving near the Southern Avenue area in South Kolkata.

The actress went live during the incident and narrated the entire incident. While attacking the actress’ car, the biker broke the glass, which left Payel very shaken and crying. In the video, Payal can be seen crying as she recalls the horrific experience.
”As I refused to go out fearing for my safety, the man punched my right window glass and broke it into pieces, injuring my hand… I don’t know where we are now. If a woman can be harassed and jeered like that on a crowded street at night, that exemplifies the real situation. And this is happening amidst demonstrations taking place across the city on the issue of women’s safety,” Payel said in her video. Along with this, the actress has also shared the details of the attacker’s bike.
In the video, the actress also claimed that a young man stopped his motorcycle in front of her car and asked her to get out of the vehicle. After she refused to get off, the motorcyclist broke the right side window of her car, causing injuries to her hand.
