Bengaluru intern quits job after securing funding for AI startup: Here’s how X users reacted

Bengaluru intern quits job after securing funding for his own AI startup.

In an unexpected turn, an intern from Bangalore has left his Technology Internship after securing funding for his own artificial intelligence company. The surprising resignation became evident when Karthik SridharanCEO of the technology company Flexiple, shared a screenshot of his WhatsApp Conversation with outgoing intern at X (formerly Twitter).

The exchange between Sridharan and the intern began when Sridharan inquired about the intern’s absence from the office. The intern revealed that he had missed work because he had met with a venture capitalist (VC) for his startup, which had just received funding. The intern’s message was direct: “Hey, sorry, I took a leave because I had a meeting with a VC. My AI Start “I got funding. I don’t need the internship anymore.”

Sridharan shared the conversation with the title: “This only happens in Bangalore,” highlighting the unique and competitive nature of the city’s tech scene.

Reactions in X

Reaction on social media to this surprising turn of events was mixed. Some users applauded the intern’s success and rapid rise in the startup world. One user commented: “I’m happy for the guy! I just hope someone mentors him so he can get better at communications too!”

Others criticized the intern’s attitude and noted that the abrupt resignation could have been handled more professionally. Some comments included: “No matter how young or inexperienced someone is, basic communication skills and respect for others are needed” and “I think this is disrespectful to a certain extent, but understandable.”

Some users defended the intern, suggesting that the conversation could have been a casual chat and not an indicator of the intern’s overall professionalism. One user argued: “People in the comments section are very quick to judge and easily offended. How do you conclude that the startup guy was chatting with a manager or boss? This could just be a casual chat between two interns or colleagues.”
