Bangalore: The City Police on Tuesday issued a traffic advisory, advising the Outer Ring Road Companies Association (ORRCA) to implement work from home (WFH) for its employees in view of the heavy traffic congestion expected on August 14 due to the upcoming long weekend and heavy rainfall expected in Bengaluru.
”This is to inform you that heavy traffic congestion is expected on 14th August 2024 due to the upcoming long weekend coupled with forecasted heavy rainfall. To minimise disruption and avoid undue delay, member companies are requested to consider allowing work from home (WFH) for their employees on 14th August 2024,” reads the notice issued on the X platform.
“This measure will not only reduce the number of vehicles on the road but will also ensure a smoother journey for all those who need to travel. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter and your understanding and support in managing traffic in Bengaluru,” the statement added.
A long weekend with several festivals and events is coming up. It begins with Diwali on Thursday, August 15. The celebrations continue with Varamahalakshmi on Friday, August 16. This is followed by the weekend on Saturday and Sunday. The long weekend concludes with Raksha Bandhan on Monday, August 19.
