The Rakhis would be tied to soldiers serving the country, so that they feel at home and not far from their sisters.

“The girls have woven more than 200 rakhis in the last two days. These rakhis will be tied to our soldiers on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan so that they do not feel separated from their sisters,” said instructor Waseem Pattan.

One of the girls, Iqra Muneer, who was involved in the Rakhi making process, said, “We have been weaving rakhis for the last two days for the Indian Army soldiers who protect our nation.”

Every year, women across the country send thousands of Rakhis to the Soldiers on the border, protecting the nation.

Raksha Bandhan, also known as RakhiIt is a much-loved Indian festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. On this day, sisters tie a sacred thread called a “rakhi” around their brothers’ wrists, as a symbol of their love, and pray for each other’s well-being.

Brothers promise to protect their sisters and often give them gifts as a token of their affection. This year, Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on Monday, August 19.
