Bharat Bandh 2024: Bhurkunda/Patratu (Ramgarh), Kumar Alok– Bharat Bandh was effective in Patratu including Bhurkunda coal plant in Ramgarh district. In Bhurkunda and Patratu, workers came out on the streets from morning to shut down the coal mines and brought the movement of vehicles to a complete standstill. Due to this, transportation of coal was paralysed. Bandh supporters protested by burning tyres at many places.
Long-distance trains were not running and two-wheeled vehicles were also stopped.
bharat bandh To make the strike a success, the bandh supporters took to the streets from Wednesday morning. Due to this, traffic was affected. Long-distance trains were not plying from Bhurkunda, Patratu Taker Stand and Bus Stand. Even two-wheelers were not allowed to ply. The bandh supporters also prevented those who went to work on bicycles. So people remained worried. The commuters had to return to their homes. Bharat Bandh was in force from morning.
Coal transport is paralyzed and markets are closed
Due to Bharat Bandh, transportation of coal from the Balkudra outsourced coal mine of Bhurkunda project was halted. Bandh supporters were seen shutting down nearby markets including Bhurkunda Market, Patratu Block Mod, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk and Patratu Lake Resort on motorcycles.
Protest by burning tyres during Bharat Bandh
Bandh supporters protested by burning tyres at many places and brought traffic to a complete standstill. Protesters at Matkama Chowk completely closed Daura Chowk. They did not even allow motorcyclists to go anywhere. Police from Bhurkunda, Patratu and Basal remained present at the intersections near Bharat Bandh.
