Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Sudhir Kumar Jain, addressing the faculty members of BHU, said that 300 new scholarships, each worth Rs 25,000 per annum, have been introduced for underprivileged students.
The university said that in order to prioritise support for students from underprivileged backgrounds, 300 new scholarships, each worth Rs 25,000 per annum, have been introduced. The scholarships have been launched under the Pratidana initiative.
He also mentioned that the Teach For BHU initiative has benefited 125 PhD students, while 320 MSc students have been given internships at Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. In addition, 203 PhD students have received financial support to present their research at international conferences.

“Professor Jain highlighted initiatives aimed at improving student welfare, leadership development and counselling services, along with new scholarships. 15 PhD students have been approved to undertake research in international institutions abroad and 23 to do so within India,” a post by the university on its official website X mentions.
Highlighting the importance of cultivating a strong culture and governance system, Professor Sudhir Kumar Jain emphasised that attracting top talent, be it faculty, staff or students, must be supported by ample resources and facilities to foster excellence.
