Patna: During the campaign in the last assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had said that this was his last election. However, it is now a thing of the past. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is all set to become the Chief Minister again. Not only this, he himself is seeing the ongoing development work in many parts of Bihar. Apart from this, he has many types of projects in mind with respect to Bihar. Under this project, the dream is to transport people from any city of Bihar to Patna within 4 hours. The Bihar government will undertake this work in the next five years. Its action plan is fully proposed. Under this framework, the process of construction of highways and expressways is going on in the state.

The Chief Minister ordered

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a review meeting on this matter a day ago. Not only this, in a meeting with officials of Ane Marg, he held a grand meeting on the four proposed and under-construction expressways and motorways in Bihar. During this meeting, the Chief Minister clearly stated that the construction of these expressways will give a new boost to the transport services in the state. He said that people from any city of Bihar will be able to reach Patna comfortably within 4 hours. A wide network of roads will be constructed in Bihar. For this, instructions have been given to the Land Acquisition Department to make it work properly. There should not be any inconvenience of any kind in this.

Highway network will be installed

During the review, the Chief Minister drew the attention of the officials to the four major projects. On the other hand, the Chief Secretary said that under this there is a plan to spend a total of Rs 84,734 crore on the construction of a 1,575-kilometre expressway. In this, the total length of highways in Bihar will be 1,063 kilometres. Rs 59,173 crore will also be spent on this. The expressways that were reviewed included eight districts of Bihar. In which this expressway will pass through West and East Champaran, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria and Kishanganj. A portion of 415 km of this 600-km long expressway will be in Bihar. For this, a land with a width of 100 metres will be acquired.

Raxaul-Haldia Highway

Apart from this, the Raxaul-Haldia Expressway has been reviewed. This project will be constructed near the international check post located at Raxaul on the Nepal border to establish immediate connectivity with the Haldia port. A 367 km stretch of this 702 km long expressway will fall in Bihar. This portion will pass through East Champaran, Shivhar, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Begusarai and Lakhisarai, besides Jamui and Banka districts of Bihar. Land acquisition measures are also required for this.

Amas-Darbhanga Expressway

The construction of the other two expressways was discussed in the Chief Minister’s review meeting. In this regard, a highway will be constructed from the proposed Dighwara bridge on Patna Ring Road to Purnia. This expressway will be 250 kilometres long. The districts of Bihar through which it will pass will include Saran, Vaishali, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Madhepura and Purnia. For this, a 100-metre wide land will be acquired. Apart from this, a 4-lane road will be constructed on the Amas Darbhanga Expressway to increase the connectivity of Bodhgaya-Rajgir. For this, a 45-metre wide land will be acquired.
