Patna: The monsoon has become active again in Bihar, due to which good rains are expected in south Bihar. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, Begusarai and Samastipur districts. Light to moderate rains are possible in many districts, including the capital Patna. In fact, the monsoon remained active most of the time in Bihar in August, though it also weakened at times. The monsoon also remained weak on Sunday, but is likely to become active again from Monday. The Meteorological Department says that most of the districts in south Bihar may receive good rains, while in some districts there is a possibility of light to moderate rains with thunderstorms.

Thunderstorm warning with rain

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, Begusarai and Samastipur districts. Light to moderate rainfall is possible in Nalanda, Jehanabad, Arwal, Bhojpur and Vaishali including capital Patna. Almost all districts in south Bihar will remain cloudy and there is a possibility of rain. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall in Saran, Gopalganj and Motihari in northwest Bihar.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Kaimur, Rohtas, Bhagalpur, Munger, Begusarai, Khagaria, Samastipur and Aurangabad districts. Temperatures will rise on Sunday

Sunday also saw a rise in temperature in the state. Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 34.1 degrees Celsius, up by 0.9 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature was recorded at Sitamarhi at 39.6 degrees Celsius. The lowest maximum temperature was recorded at 33 degrees Celsius in Muzaffarpur and Banka. The average temperature in Bihar on Sunday was around 35 degrees.
