Bihar’s rivers are full and flowing above the danger mark – see their ferocious form in the pictures.

In Bihar, all rivers including Ganga and Kosi, Son, Punpun, Bagmati, Gandak etc are in spate. In this regard, the district administration team is continuously patrolling at the local level. The Water Resources Department has claimed that all its embankments are safe. On Saturday, the water level of the Ganga river was above the danger mark at Dighaghat, Gandhighat and Hathidah of Patna and Kahalgaon of Bhagalpur. The water level of Son is likely to cross the danger mark on Sunday.

Ganges rises in Patna and Buxar

According to the Central Water Commission, the Ganga river at Buxar on Saturday was 84 cm below the danger mark, there is a possibility of a decline of 18 cm till Sunday. The Ganga river was flowing three centimeters higher at Patna’s Dighaghat. There is a possibility of a rise of 12 cm.

Ganges flows above danger mark in Patna

The Ganga river was 66 cm above the danger mark at Gandhighat, Patna. There is a possibility of raising it by 10 cm. At Hathidah, Patna, the Ganga river was 35 cm above the danger mark. There is a possibility of a rise of 24 cm.

Rivers of Bhagalpur and other districts…

The Ganga river was 15 cm above the danger mark at Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur district. There is a possibility of a rise of 19 cm. The Son river at Maner in Patna district was six cm below the danger mark. There is a possibility of it rising by 15 cm and crossing the danger mark by 8 am on Sunday. The Punpun river at Sripalpur in Patna district was 10 cm below the danger mark. There is a possibility of a decline of 20 cm by 8 am on Sunday.

Rivers of Siwan, Gopalganj and other districts…

The Ghaghra river at Darauli in Siwan was 21 cm below the danger mark. It may rise up to 35 cm. The Gandak river was 10 cm above the danger mark at Dumariyaghat in Gopalganj district. It may rise by nine cm. The water level at Budhi Gandak in Khagaria was 20 cm above the danger mark. It may rise by 54 cm.

Rivers of Muzaffarpur, Katihar and other districts.

The Bagmati River was 95 cm above the danger mark at Beniabad in Muzaffarpur district. There may be a decrease of 13 cm in it. The Kosi River was 111 cm above the danger mark at Baltara in Khagaria district. There is a possibility of a rise of 16 cm. The Kosi River was 31 cm above the danger mark at Kursela. It may rise by 22 cm. The water level of the Parman River at Araria was 56 cm above the danger mark. There is a possibility of a rise of nine cm.
