Birla Fertility & IVF to expand presence in southern and western US by FY25 | Company News

Gurgaon-based Birla Fertility & IVF (BFI) has announced plans to expand its presence in southern and western India with 8-12 centres by fiscal 2025. It has acquired a majority stake in IVF chain BabyScience for an undisclosed sum.

The fertility care major announced the acquisition of 12 BabyScience IVF clinics, marking its entry into Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. BFI will now operate 50 clinics across the country. The acquisition is a key component of BFI’s strategic expansion plan, with an ongoing investment of over Rs 500 crore. In May, BFI acquired Kerala-based ARMC IVF.

The company expects full integration of the two businesses within six to 12 months. Birla Fertility & IVF aims to have 100 centres in tier 2 and tier 3 cities by fiscal year 2028.

Birla Fertility & IVF already has a 60 per cent share in tier two cities like Siliguri, Bhubaneswar, Varanasi, Meerut, Ranchi and others. It has been present in Hyderabad for six months and plans to open two more centres in Telangana.

Additionally, the company plans to build around four data centres in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu by 2026, and two to three centres in Kerala and Maharashtra within the same period.

“At Birla Fertility & IVF, we focus on customizing treatments like fertility preservation, egg freezing, and embryo freezing. We have world-renowned doctors and leading fertility specialists as advisors, and partner with global institutions to ensure couples have access to cutting-edge solutions on their journey to parenthood. We are delighted to partner with BabyScience IVF clinics. They have consistently proven their excellence in the field of fertility care,” said Avanti Birla, Chairman and Founder, Birla Fertility & IVF.

The company aims to create awareness in society. With this acquisition, Birla Fertility & IVF has a combined experience of over 120,000 IVF cycles and has treated over 230,000 patients.

“With this step, Birla Fertility & IVF aims to spread awareness and offer reliable fertility treatments, thereby strengthening our presence in the South. With BabyScience, we have found a like-minded partner with a similar model of care,” said Akshat Seth, Vice President, CK Birla Healthcare.
