Bulldozer advances on shopping complex of accused rape suspect Moeed Khan

UP Bulldozer action: The Ayodhya district administration on Thursday demolished the ‘commercial complex’ of local Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and accused Moeed Khan of operating a bulldozer in a recent gangrape case.

A large number of security forces were deployed before the accused’s compound was demolished.

Sohwal Sub-Collector AK Saini said the bulldozer started demolishing the “complex” in Bhadarsa town around 1.30 pm. He said the Mueed Khan “commercial complex” was built on government land and so steps are being taken to demolish the unauthorised building. According to police sources, the “complex” was vacant and the branch of a nationalised bank operating in it had been shifted before the bulldozer action. He said that during the demolition process, a large number of police personnel were deployed to ensure law and order across Bhadarsa town.

What is the problem?

On July 30 this year, the Ayodhya police arrested local SP leader Mueed Khan, who runs a bakery in Bhadarsa town under Purakalandar police station area of ​​the district, and his employee Raju in the case of raping a 12-year-old girl. According to the police, Mueed and Raju had raped the minor girl two months ago and had also recorded the act on video. This incident came to light when the girl was found pregnant during a medical examination. The Ayodhya district administration also demolished Khan’s bakery on August 3. According to district magistrate Chandra Vijay Singh, Mueed’s bakery was illegally built on the land of a pond.
