Candidates are cancelling their seats after admission in BHU, now 550 general seats are left in graduation.

On one hand, the BHU is relieved to have filled the seats after four years, while on the other hand, they are worried about the cancellation of seats of the candidates after their admission. After the last round of admissions concluded on Monday evening, the admissions of around 800 students were cancelled. Now, 550 general seats remain in the undergraduate admission at BHU. A mop-up round for admission to these seats will be conducted from September 9.

A total of 8,894 seats were to be filled in the admission process for undergraduate subjects at BHU. In the four rounds of admission, students got over 7,500 seats. Meanwhile, sporadic cases of cancellation of admission also continued to occur. With the entry of the last phase on Monday, the cancellation phase also began, which made officials sweat. About two dozen seats were cancelled on Tuesday as well. To fill the remaining seats, BHU will also conduct mopping-up rounds in undergraduate courses. Before this, there will be an enhancement of seats from September 5 to 7 and online registration for the first round of seats from September 9 to 11. Allotment of seats and face-to-face counselling will be held from September 12 to 14.

Chairman of BHU Central Admissions Committee Prof. Bhaskar Bhattacharya said that the spot round for PG subjects also began on Tuesday. Around 600 students turned up for counselling on the first day. After verification, they will be allotted seats. The counselling process will continue on Wednesday as well.
