CBI sent a sample to AIIMS experts for review

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is investigating the rape and murder case of a woman doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, is currently ready to take the final decision on the basis of the DNA report provided by the Central Bureau of Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) is not there. The report submitted by CFSL has been sent to AIIMS experts for review. The Kolkata Police provided samples for the DNA report to CFSL Kolkata on August 13. The said samples include samples recovered from the deceased’s private parts, skin and hair samples from nails, hair samples found at the spot, etc. Besides, clothes, blankets and bedsheets of the deceased were collected as samples. Blood samples of the accused Sanjay Rai arrested in the incident and the clothes he was wearing on the night of the incident were also collected as samples.

It is reported that on the request of the Kolkata Police, CFSL agreed to submit the sample investigation report within six days. But in the meantime, the Calcutta High Court handed over the responsibility of investigating the case to the CBI. There is an issue regarding who will be submitted by CFSL for the investigation report. However, the Kolkata Police is not investigating the matter, so it did not contact the CFSL. In such a situation, the report was left in the hands of the CFSL officials. Later, on August 26, with the permission of the court, the CBI collected the DNA report. According to sources, after taking over the investigation, the CBI had also handed over some samples to the CFSL. According to sources, based on the report prepared on the basis of samples submitted by the Kolkata Police, the report submitted by CFSL was sent to the experts at AIIMS for review. Currently, till the report comes from there, CBI is probably not ready to take any decision.
