Bringing Lord Ganesha Home

Make sure your house is clean and tidy before bringing in the deity. This shows respect for Lord Ganesha. Once the house is ready, gather all the family members and welcome Ganpati with flowers, modaks and other important traditional items.

Pooja Method

Pratishthapan: As per Hindu beliefs, before installing the idol it is important to keep Lord Ganesha on a raised platform and recite prayers and mantras. The ritual of chanting mantras is vital before and after installation. Asana Samarpan: After successful installation of the clay idol, take five flowers and place them at the feet of Ganpati.

Padya Samarpan: The next step is to wash the feet of Lord Ganesha with holy water known as Padya Samarpan.

Arghya Samarpan: After offering Padya to Lord Ganesha, offer him scented water while chanting the Mantra.
