Chandigarh-based fashion brand Theater raises $1.5 million

Chandigarh-based fashion brand Theater has raised $1.5 million in a pre-Series A round funds round led by Mumbai-based venture capital firm Prath Ventures, with participation from existing angel investors.

The startup plans to use the capital raised to expand its offline presence, which it sees as crucial to reaching a wider audience.

Additionally, Theater will focus on accelerating design and production iteration processes and explore new sales channels, including flash commerce, to further drive company growth.

Focused on women’s fashion

Founded in 2021 by Sarthak Aggarwal, Vikram Jain, Karan Jain and Shruti Aggarwal, Theater specialises in women’s footwear, hosiery, perfumes and handbags, with products priced between Rs 900 and Rs 4,000.

The brand aims to offer premium, mass-market fashion products that are timeless in design and of high quality.

“Our mission is to transform the Indian fashion landscape through a design-centric approach,” said Sarthak Aggarwal, CEO of Theater.

What did investors say?

“Consumption in India is at an inflection point and we believe there is white space in categories like women’s footwear and fragrances. We are delighted to partner with Sarthak, Vikram, Shruti and Karan to build a category-defining lifestyle brand in India,” said Piyush Goenka, Managing Partner, Prath Ventures.
