Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi reviews operational preparedness in Manipur

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra DwivediPVSM, AVSM, began a two-day visit to Manipur On Friday, General Dwivedi met with the Chief of Staff to assess the operational preparedness of the security forces in the state. Upon his arrival, General Dwivedi was briefed by the field commanders on the current security situation and the preparedness of the forces.

During his visit, General Dwivedi held crucial discussions with the heads of various security agencies operating in Manipur. He expressed his appreciation for the ideas shared by these agencies and underlined the importance of collaboration in maintaining stability in the region.

A highlight of the visit was a meeting between General Dwivedi and the Chief Minister of Manipur, By N. Apart from his high-level meetings, General Dwivedi took the opportunity to interact directly with the troops stationed in Manipur. The visit also included a meeting with veterans, during which General Dwivedi lauded their selfless service and invaluable contributions towards nation building. The Chief of Army Staff was accompanied by Lt. Gen. RC Tiwari, Commanding General, Eastern Command, and Lt. Gen. Abhijit S Pendharkar, Commander, Launch Corps, who underlined the strategic importance of his visit to Manipur.
