CM Vishnudev Sai celebrated Hareli Tihar

Chhattisgarh News: Chhattisgarh CM Vishnudev Sai celebrated the Hareli Tihar festival at his official residence on August 4. During this, he congratulated the people of the state and addressed those present at the function. He said that the top priority of his government is to bring happiness and prosperity to the farmers. He laid special emphasis on the fact that Chhattisgarh is an agricultural state, where 80 per cent of the population depends on agriculture for their livelihood. The Chief Minister highlighted the important decisions taken by former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote agriculture and benefit the farmers.

Praised former CM Raman Singh
Chief Minister Sai also appreciated the efforts of Dr Raman Singh during his 15-year tenure and said that Raman Singh focused on the welfare of farmers during his rule. Due to his efforts, farmers got facilities like zero per cent interest on farm loans. He said that the state government is now purchasing 21 quintals of paddy per acre from farmers at the rate of Rs 3,100 per quintal. The Hareli Tihar celebration at the Chief Minister’s residence was enthusiastic and the entire premises was decorated like a village. As part of the celebrations, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and his wife Kaushalya Devi Sai also performed Gauri-Ganesh Puja and Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva.

Tractors and other items distributed among farmers
CM Sai visited the exhibition of advanced agricultural equipment organised by the Agriculture Department. During the programme, he distributed keys of tractors, combine harvesters and other agricultural equipment to 23 farmers. Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, MP Brijmohan Agarwal, MP Kiran Singh Deo and Chief Minister’s wife Kaushalya Devi Sai also addressed the gathering. Lauding CM Sai’s dedication for the welfare of the state, Dr Raman Singh said that good rains are like divine blessings. He appreciated the significant efforts made for the welfare of farmers in the last six months under CM Sai’s leadership.

People enjoyed the Raut dance and the Gedi dance.
The people present at Hareli Tihar at the residence of the Chief Minister watched a live display of Chhattisgarh folk culture. Folk music, traditional Gadwa Baja, Raut dance and Gedi dance were presented in the programme. Raut dance, Karma dance, Bastaria dance and Gedi dance were performed by various folk artists. On the request of the Raut Nacha artists, the Chief Minister enlivened the artists by wearing traditional Chhattisgarhi attire.

The guests enjoyed traditional Chhattisgarh dishes.
During the programme, the aroma of Chhattisgarh cuisine spread at the residence of the Chief Minister. Special dishes like Thethri, Khurmi, Pidiya, Anarsa, Khaja, Curry Laddu, Muthiya, Gulgula Bhajiya, Cheela-Fara and Bara were prepared for the guests. These traditional dishes were thoroughly enjoyed by the guests. Minister Tankaram Verma, MLA Lata Usendi, Moti Lal Sahu, Anuj Sharma, Sampat Aggarwal, Gajendra Yadav, Khushwant Sahab and other public representatives and distinguished citizens were present.
