Chhattisgarh News: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai reviewed the law and order situation in the state on the second day of the Collector-SP conference at New Circuit House in the capital Raipur. During this, he said that in the minds of criminals there should be fear of law. Victims should get justice quickly. The general public should maintain confidence in the police administration. No citizen should be harassed unnecessarily. Police behaviour should be friendly to common citizens. The environment of police stations should be such that the common citizen expects cooperation while entering police stations. Chief Minister Sai said that to control crime in the state, Collectors and SPs should establish mutual coordination and ensure effective action. He said that the Central Government has changed the Penal Code to Code of Justice. The police will have to adapt to work according to these new laws while ensuring their implementation on the ground. He said that our government is committed to providing good governance and the number of crimes has come down compared to previous years.

It is necessary to promote social surveillance in the state again.
Chief Minister Sai said that there is a need to promote social vigilance in the state again, which will help in stopping crimes. There is a need to create awareness among people and assure them that the police is with them. Chief Minister Sai said that cow smuggling and drug abuse are a big problem in the state, so strict monitoring should be ensured and comprehensive measures should be ensured in such cases. He said that by carrying out a drive to stop transportation and sale of illegal liquor, gambling, betting and ganja smuggling, legal action will be ensured against the culprits. Keep a close watch on those who create disturbances in the society and spread rumours and ensure prompt action against them. There should be no delay in action in a case like murder and in such a case, prompt action should be ensured on priority.

The Chief Minister said that preventive actions in Badar district should not be stopped. He said that there should be no delay in restrictive cases and that the actions of Badar District should not be just on paper but should be done in reality. The Chief Minister said that there are many complaints of illegal sale of liquor, in which the police are accused of protection, this should not happen at all. Illegal sale of liquor should be stopped completely. In many places there is a lot of anger among the people over the investigation of illegal sale of liquor, complaints are being received in this regard that the investigation team is not investigating properly and the officers are not present in the investigation. He said that such negligence will not be tolerated. The Chief Minister stated that cases of fraud in Kisan Samman Nidhi are also coming to light, on which immediate action should be taken.

The Chief Minister also said that there has been a decline in crimes in Bilaspur Police Range but he is not satisfied with this and there is a need to further improve the level of policing. Similarly, he said that Durg Police Range needs to work harder. Expressing his dissatisfaction, he said that murder and robbery cases are not solved even in 6 months, this is not fair. In many cases the accused is absconding and immediate action should be taken in this regard. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that good work has been done at some places in Rajnandgaon Police Range, good action has been taken in Trinetra app and cheque fund cases but this alone is not enough. Expressing concern over the rise in road accidents in the state, the Chief Minister said that common people should be advised to follow traffic rules and wear seat belts and helmets. At the meeting, he discussed measures that can be taken in the coming days to make the police more trustworthy, transparent and accountable.

Keep a close eye on the land mafia
While reviewing the Raipur area, Chief Minister Sai laid special emphasis on the quality of policing in the capital. He said that Raipur is the capital of the state and it is very important that the police here is at the top level. The Chief Minister expressed serious concern over the allegations of land grabbing by the government and common citizens by the land mafia in Raipur. He said that the police and the revenue department should keep a close watch on this issue and take immediate action.

The Chief Minister said that instructions have been given to take immediate strict action against drug dealing. He said that the police will have to break the ecosystem of this illegal trade and crack down on it by getting to the root of the crime. He said that there is a need to conduct a comprehensive awareness campaign against drugs in schools and colleges in Raipur, so that the youth can be saved from this deadly trend.

Stressing the need to make night patrols more effective in the capital, the Chief Minister directed to continue police patrols and ensure strict action against organised crime. They all said that they should plan and carry out a continuous drive against crime and criminals so that crime can be controlled and the law and order situation improved. Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Director General of Police Ashok Juneja, Divisional Commissioner of the state, Inspector General of Police, Collector and Superintendent of Police and other senior officials were present at the Collector-SP conference.
