Congress releases second list of candidates for Haryana Assembly elections

The Congress Party today released its second list of candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections. The list contains the names of nine candidates.

The party has presented Brijendra Singh of Uchana Kalan and Mohit Grover from Gurugram. Other candidates include Ashok Arora (Thanesar), Kuldeep Sharma (Ganaur), Paramvir Singh (Tohana), Anirudh Chaudhary (Tosham), Balram Dangi (Meham), Manju Choudhary (Nangal Chaudhary) and Vardhan Yadav (Badshahpur).

The Congress on Friday released its first list of 32 candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections, fielding former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, state unit chief Udai Bhan from Hodal and wrestler Vinesh Phogat from Julana.

The 90-member Haryana Assembly is scheduled to go to polls on October 5 and the counting of votes will take place on October 8.

On Sunday morning, some Congress workers from Haryana demonstrated outside the AICC headquarters in Delhi, demanding that local leaders be given preference over “outsiders”. Some workers were protesting as they were upset that family members of leaders were being given tickets. Most of the protesters were from Haryana’s Bawani Khera and were carrying placards that read “Bahari pratyashi bardasht nahi karenge (We will not tolerate outside candidates).”
