Sitaram Yechury dead: Sitaram Yechury, general secretary of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and former Rajya Sabha MP, passed away. At the age of 72, the Left leader breathed his last at AIIMS on Thursday (September 12). Yechury, a native of South India, was elected to the Rajya Sabha from West Bengal.

Sitaram Yechury was admitted to AIIMS on August 19.

Sitaram Yechury was 72 years old. Due to difficulty in breathing, he was admitted to the emergency ward of All India AIIMS, New Delhi on August 19. Later, Yechury was shifted to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). Today, i.e. on Thursday, he breathed his last at AIIMS itself.
