Daring robbers created terror and stole around Rs 50 lakh from two flats

Patna News: Theft incidents in Danapur show no signs of stopping. Last night, intrepid thieves broke the locks of two flats of Ramdayal Enclave Apartment on RKpuram Road in the police station area and made off with property worth Rs 1 lakh and over Rs 60 lakh. The thieves easily raided the locked flats of a retired bank manager and a railway employee and fled the spot. Incidents of robbery, snatching, bike theft and mobile snatching are ongoing in the city. Questions are being raised about police patrolling and security. In this regard, Sukriti, a resident of Apartment Block A, Number 205 and daughter of retired railway employee Ghanshyam Singh, has lodged a written complaint against unknown thieves at the local police station.

The thieves opened the refrigerator and also drank water.

Sukriti said that late in the night her mother Kumari Ranjana Singh called and informed her that burglars had robbed her flat. She said that she lives in a flat next to her mother’s and on receiving the information, when she went to the flat, she saw that the burglars had entered the room by cutting the door lock and had searched all three rooms one by one. The burglars broke into the cupboard and took away valuables including one lakh rupees in cash and gold and silver jewellery worth around twenty lakh rupees. She said that on September 9 last, after locking the flat, the father had gone to his village Siwan and the mother works as a teacher in Bhagalpur. Sukriti said the burglars opened the refrigerator and also drank water.

Police are busy scanning CCTV

Manoj Kumar, a resident of flat number 202 and a retired bank manager, had locked up the flat for the last three and a half months and had gone to Bangalore to be with his daughter. His son-in-law Vishal said that my father-in-law informed on phone late at night that the door of the flat was broken. On receiving the information, when he reached Kolkata on Tuesday morning, he saw that the burglars had torn off the door of the flat and had entered the room and easily searched three rooms. He said that the burglars had cut the lock of the room. After the father-in-law’s arrival, the stolen property was assessed and he was told how much property the burglars had stolen. The owner of a flat has installed CCTV cameras in his flat. The police have reached the spot and are busy investigating and CCTV footage is being analysed so that the burglars can be identified.
