The all-terrain Ace India Shardul Thakur is all set to make a comeback to top-level cricket after recovering from an injury. Thakur is reportedly set to play for Mumbai in the Iran CupThakur suffered an injury in IPL 2024 and underwent surgery in June. According to TOI, Thakur recently played for Mumbai against the KSCA Secretary’s XI in the Dr. Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament. While he failed to open his account while batting, he bowled eight overs for 29 runs while taking one wicket.

With Hardik Pandya out of contention, Thakur could be considered by the BCCI, given that a fast bowling all-rounder is no less than gold in Australian conditions. Shardul Thakur has played 11 Test matches for India, scoring 331 runs, including four fifties, along with 31 wickets.
