Diljit Dosanjh joins the cast of Border 2.
Diljit Dosanjh has joined the cast of the “biggest war” movie, Edge 2The makers of the upcoming series announced on Friday that Diljit would be joining the project, much to the excitement of fans. The film also stars Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan.
Sunny welcomed her new ‘fauji’ to the Battalion with an announcement video on Instagram. The video’s caption read, “The bravest of the brave come together for the biggest movie.” She also showed stills from scenes from her prequel, Edge with a line from the iconic song Where is Sandesh? with Sonu Nigam’s voice in the background.
Earlier, the makers revealed that Varun Dhawan would be joining the cast. The actor took to Instagram to express his gratitude. He wrote, “I was just a fourth grader when I went to the Chandan theatre and watched Border. And it had a huge impact. I still remember the feeling of national pride that we all felt in the room. I started admiring our armed forces and to this day, I salute how they protect us and keep us safe, be it at our borders or during natural disasters.”
About Border
Border 2 It is the sequel to Edgewhich released in 1997. Original director JP Dutta will turn producer on the new project, with Bhushan Kumar also financing it along with him. Edge Starring Sunny Deol alongside Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Jackie Shroff and many more, the film is set during the 1971 India-Pakistan war and focuses on the events of the Battle of Longewala.
Ayushmann Khurrana had already been cast but decided not to participate as he was unsure about joining a group led by Sunny Deol.
Border 2 It is directed by Anurag Singh of Kesari (2019) fame, and is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026.
