Director Gurudatha Ganiga is set to bring Poornachandra Tejaswi’s famous novel ‘Jugari Cross’ to the big screen

Gurudatha Ganiga will direct the suspense thriller adaptation of Poornachandra Tejaswi’s popular Kannada novel ‘Jugari Cross’.

One of the popular novels of the famous Kannada writer Poornachandra Tejaswi, Cross Game is adapting to a suspense thriller for the big screen. The adaptation of the novel The filming of a movie was announced on Sunday, September 8, the day that also commemorates the anniversary of the writer’s birth.

Gurudatha Ganiga to the helm Jugari Cross

Director Gurudatha Ganiga, who has directed Ambi Ning Vasayyatho and currently busy with the film Karavali Starring Prajwal Debaraj, he directs Poornachandra Tejaswi’s highly appropriate novel.

The first trailer of the film was released on Poornachandra Tejaswi’s birthday. Like in the novel, the story of Cross Game is located in the sahyadri forestIt revolves around a couple who are dedicated to agriculture and delves into issues of wildlife theft, robbery and clandestine activities.

Although several filmmakers, including Sandalwood actors, had long aspired to bring Cross Game As far as the big screen is concerned, none of them took off and finally Gurudatha Ganiga has managed to launch it with determination to bring it to the screens in the near future.

Abhimanyu Sadanandan will be handling the cinematography and more details about the cast and crew will be revealed soon.

Poornachandra Tejaswi works in films

Some of Kannada writer Poornachandra Tejaswi’s works have been made into films, including: Abachurina Post Office.

Released in 1973, directed by N Lakshminarayan, it is based on the short story collection of the same name. Starring Nani, Girija Lokesh and Ramesh Bhat.

His other work brought to the cinema is a National Award-winning film, Kathe TabaranaDirected by Girish Kasaravalli, the film’s lead actor Charuhasan won the Best Actor award at the 34th National Film Awards.

Kubbi Mattu Iyala, Kiragoorina Gayaligalu and Daredevil Musthafa are other works of Poornachandra Tejaswi that were made into films.
