Doctors and nurses of Asansol district hospital also protested against the said incident. Wearing black badges, these people protested on the hospital premises and demanded security for doctors and healthcare workers. Protests against the incident are taking place everywhere. Opposition parties are fiercely cornering the ruling party of the state in connection with the incident. Ahead of the statewide protests, the state government has taken a step back and is trying to do damage control. On Saturday, the Asansol District Hospital Doctors and Nurses Association in West Burdwan also strongly condemned the incident by wearing black badges. Dr Sanjit Chatterjee, a member of the association, strongly condemned the incident and demanded immediate punishment for the culprits. He also demanded to increase the security of doctors during work. Dr Nisha Alam said that female doctors and nurses are currently working night shifts in several hospitals.
