Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah has posed 10 questions to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, demanding clarification on the grand old party’s stand on a host of issues while forging an alliance with Farooq Abdullah’s National Conference. Farooq Abdullah announced the Congress-NC alliance for the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections on Thursday.

Amit Shah lashed out at Congress and Rahul Gandhi on the alliance and alleged that Congress “repeatedly risked the unity and security of the nation to satisfy its lust for power.”

Amit Shah said the North Carolina-Congress alliance has exposed “Congress Party’s anti-reservation stance”On Friday, he addressed X to ask 10 questions to Congress and Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, demanding the leader to clarify his party’s stand on various issues.

The 10 questions asked by Amit Shah are:

1. Does Congress support the The promise of the National Conference Separate flag for Jammu and Kashmir?

2. Do Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Party support the JKNC’s decision to reinstate Articles 370 and 35A, thereby pushing Jammu and Kashmir back into an era of unrest and terrorism?

3. Does Congress support re-promoting separatism by engaging in dialogue with Pakistan instead of the Kashmiri youth?

4. Do the Congress Party and Rahul Gandhi support the National Conference’s decision to initiate a “LoC trade” with Pakistan, thereby fuelling terrorism and its ecosystem across the border?

5. Does Congress support the reinstatement of family members of persons involved in acts of terrorism and stone throwing to government positions, thereby re-establishing terrorism, extremism and the era of strikes?

10. Do Congress Party and Rahul Gandhi support JKNC’s divisive policy of granting autonomy to Kashmir?

In another post on X, Shah said that after allying with the National Conference, Rahul Gandhi “should now clarify the Congress Party’s stand on the reservation policy.” He again asked, “Does Rahul Gandhi support the JKNC manifesto, which calls for abolition of reservations for Dalits, Gujjars, Bakerwals and Pahadis?”

What the NC manifesto for the Jammu and Kashmir elections says

The NC manifesto for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections does not clearly specify reservations for Dalits, Gujjars, Bakerwals and Pahadis.

The manifesto merely promises to include reservations for Sikhs in government jobs under SRO 425, similar to the provisions for non-immigrant Kashmiri Pandits. “This will ensure fair employment opportunities and support their socio-economic progress,” the manifesto reads.

He added that the NC will support reservation of two seats in the J&K Assembly, one each for Jammu and Kashmir, to ensure adequate representation of the Sikh community.

He Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections to be held in three phases – on September 18, September 25 and October 1. The results of both the Assembly elections will be declared on October 4, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced.
